New Music Promo: Charley Bird’s “Alone”

We were delighted to have the opportunity to work with singer-songwriter Charley Bird, of X Factor 2011 2 Shoes fame, creating a promo for her powerful new ballad, Alone.

The film was shot in black and white, with occasional dashes of colour added later to complement the song’s core themes of loss and isolation, tempered by hope and the memory of past happiness. Whilst the video was shot in High Definition digital format, a highly cinematic "filmed" look was achieved using a range of techniques and tools during the shoot and in post production.

Three very different film locations allowed us to reflect the smooth changes in tone, juxtaposing intimate, introspective lyrics in a lonely bedroom with the expressive grandeur of a theatre performance and the “imaginative release” suggested by the open country sequence.

Charley's album, Alone, was released April 2009.
