Flying
into the Breach
We were approached by the NFU and Managing Coastal
Change to document an event occurring on Potton Island
in Essex.
Farmers, emergency planners, coastal engineers, councillors
and Environment Agency representatives were among
more than 60 people who attended a demonstration organised
by farmer Peter Philpot to see how helicopters could
be used to make emergency seawall repairs.
The informative short programme was filmed and edited
in just over a day, enabling quick communication of
the initiative to coastal farmers across the country.
All stakeholders were extremely pleased with the end
result.

Managing
Coastal Change at Hillhouse Farm
Working
with the NFU, the Environment Agency,Natural England
and others, Hillhouse Farm on the Suffolk coast is
investigating the possibility of a managed retreat
programme which would allow an area of marshland on
the farm to revert to salt marsh by breaching the
sea wall.
The short film explores the potential for such a scheme
and the benefits it will bring to the environment,
coastal wildlife, tourism and the farm itself.
